Watch magic unfold as art meets music. Bookfest favourite James Mayhew will be joined by his world-class musician friends Alex Redington (violin) and Siu Chi Li (piano), in what is sure to be a truly memorable event. As Alex and Siu play, James will create beautiful illustrations for a story inspired by the music.
James Mayhew is a multi-award-winning British author and illustrator who has been inspiring and educating children through music, literature and art since 1989. His extensive body of work includes the Katie series, which introduces children to great works of art, and Ella Bella Ballerina which gives them a window into the world of ballet. He is particularly well-known for the way in which he uses imaginative stories to educate young readers about art and culture in an accessible way.
While he is not writing, he is illustrating to music, creating works of art live on stage accompanied by musicians playing classical masterpieces.
