The Write Stuff

Ginger Cat Tales

Self-published author Keith Hatton writes picture books for older children (5-11) and hopes that his stories will encourage children to pick up a pen and write. Spark your imagination with Keith’s books and enjoy a variety of creative writing tasks. Signed books available to purchase.

Wild Survivors – Saffron Walden Museum

How have animals adapted to survive in the wild? Using museum exhibits, study & draw animals and name the features that help them live in their habitats.

Drop-in Dragons

Drop in Dragons – make a dragon puppet or mask with Cambridge Art Makers. Create your dream dragon and imagine all the mischief it will get up to!

Hidden Tales

Set off on an exciting trail, looking for clues around the festival site! Learn about the Hidden Tales treasure hunt in the Cambridge museums, and take a selfie as a Sphinx!

Victorian Photo Studio

Step back in time and let our historical photographers take your family portrait, Victorian style! There is a small charge (£3 per individual or group photo) for this activity.

We all belong in books

Every child deserves to recognise themselves in a book, and books should offer every child the chance to see life through different eyes. Explore diversity & identity of all kinds and enjoy a story or two with our youth volunteers.

Chill-out zone

There’s so much to do at Linton Bookfest – sometimes you just need a little break to recharge! Sit quietly & relax in our chill-out zone.
